ZtuffStuff Inc., the home of TUFFER, STRONGER, BETTER industrial cleaner products, was developed to provide a better boat, home, auto and RV cleaner to replace other ineffective products that can't get the tough jobs done.
In the early 2000s, the developer and founder of ZtuffStuff, Inc. purchased a used Sea Ray® cabin cruiser that was in tuff shape. While mechanically sound, the cabin cruiser was rarely cleaned and it was extremely grimy inside and out. But the price was right! The founder knew that the boat would be trustworthy but was very concerned about the years of diesel soot that went unwashed and the streak marks on the formally white fiberglass and vinyl exterior and interior seating that had seen better days. "With a little elbow grease this boat could be looking like new again," he thought.
The boat was purchased and the clean up began... and continued and continued. No product was working. The vinyl was still dingy with a gray coating and the diesel soot was not coming out. He tried everything: degreaser, bleach, polishers, buffers, waxes etc. He tried brushes, sponges, hoses, spray bottles and extension poles to clean the difficult spots to reach. Nothing was working well at all. All the cleaning products on the market he tried fell short of cleaning the boat and most of tools used to wash the boat with were shoddy, expensive and did not stand up to a rigorous use.
After unsuccessfully getting the dirt and grime off the vinyl seating surfaces, sun pad and weather enclosure, the founder gave up and called a company to refit the boat with new surfaces.
The quote to replace all the surfaces on the boat came back at over $14,000!!!! As a result of the quote, the founder decided he needed to create a product to clean this boat. $14,000 was out of the question. However, being a finicky person who wants all his cars, boats and RVs to shine, he knew he had to create his own cleaning formula to return this boat to its original condition.
After a lot of mixing and testing (and a short stint in the hospital for mixing chemicals that should not be mixed together) the formula was born. Literally, within a matter of minutes, the vinyl seating and sun pad came clean. He then took it to the boat's dinghy. The diesel soot stained dinghy, which he resigned that he would never be able to get it restored, came clean in MINUTES! The ZCleaner formula was born! The boat broker who sold the boat could not believe how well the formula cleaned it up. The vinyl and dinghy looked BRAND NEW!
With a successful manufacturers rep business to run, ZtuffStuff's founder would only make up a batch of his new found ZCleaner when he or a friend needed it. It was becoming more frequent that he would be making batches of ZCleaner and selling it to neighbors and friends that needed a tuff boat and RV cleaner. They were asking for more and more. He could not keep up. One day, his long time friend who was a landlord was short on time and needed cleaning product for a very dirty rental he was going to clean. On his way out of the founder's house, he grabbed a bottle of cleaner not knowing it contained the ZCleaner formula and went on his way to clean. The next day he showed up asking where he could buy that stuff because it was the best cleaner he had ever used in cleaning his rentals! With the demand to make more and the continued encouragement of his friends and neighbors to market and sell the ZtuffStuff, Inc. Zcleaner, he began to refine the formula.
After 8 months of engineering, test marketing and perfecting the formula, several long time veterans of the marine industry got a hold of the product at the Fort Lauderdale boat show to clean their personal boats. After one use they were sold on this new industrial cleaner. They could not believe how well it worked and encouraged the founder to move forward. They had never cleaned with a TUFFER, STRONGER, BETTER vinyl cleaner. ZtuffStuff, Inc was born.
